Thursday, 26th to Monday, December 30th, at the Maison symphonique,Montreal.

As part of the international tour in celebration of their 90th anniversary, the Red Army Choir will come to Montréal’s Maison symphonique for seven spectacular performances from December 26 to 30. Accompanying the most celebrated vocal ensemble in the world, Isabelle Boulay will contribute with her spirit and voice to four songs during this Christmas concert series.

For these unmissable events, the Red Army Choir will draw on tradition with magical performances of Christmas carols sung in Russian, French and English, along with some of the best-loved songs from its own repertoire.

The Maison symphonique will host 75 artists, choristers and musicians for the concerts. Performers include the legendary Valery Gavva, a choir member for nearly 30 years, and Maksim Maklakov, the young winner of multiple international awards. Artistic director Gennadiy Sachenyuk (also known as “the Maestro”) will conduct the choir, assisted by Nikolai Kirillov.

Though the choir is nearing a century old, it has never been so modern in scope, with tours that reach every continent. Its current tour features almost 200 performances, including in France, Italy, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Turkey, Romania, China and, to cap off its anniversary celebration in style, in Montréal, for its only Canadian performance.
